grandpa's bday celebrations

was my grandfather's bday celebration today at man fu yuan at intercontinental hotel.. the food there is quite good.. the service by one of the waitresses was fantastic.. but i cant say the same for the other waitresses.. one of the other waitresses was clearing plates.. and then she just stretched out her hand.. expecting me to pass the plate to her for her to clear.. without so much as an excuse me or please help me.. just a "nah.. this is my hand.. put ur plate in my hand" attitude.. but i relli want to commend the other lady.. the one who helped to cut the 1kg cake into 32 pieces.. all these lotus filled buns.. 88 of them.. i dunno what they are supposed to signify.. but apparently only pple celebrating 80 years of age are given this privilege.. i love lotus buns.. hee :) ate 3 of them tonight.. but i think they should have arranged the lotus buns into some form of wordings or something.. like those lion dance oranges arrangement.. my immediate family and my maternal grandparents..
